My name is Katrina Goenaga. I am in my early 30’s. I am married to my best friend, Leonard Goenaga, and I am the mama to three silly toddlers: Charlotte Ann, Olivia Marie, and Leland James.
I am originally from Miami, Florida which is where I received a B.A. in Religious Studies and Theater Arts from the University of Miami. After getting married and completing my degree, we moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina to pursue Master’s degrees at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I graduated from SEBTS in 2014 with an M.A. in Biblical Counseling, but I am continuing my education with the intention of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Prior to co-founding The Bard Company, I had the pleasure of working on the campus of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary for five years. I currently serve as a Biblical Counselor at The Summit Church. I understand the pressures of being a wife, mother, and student, which is why I have a passion for counseling and mentoring women.
I became a believer while in college through the saving work of Christ. After spending many years struggling with depression, anxiety, and self-mutilation I relinquished my old life and devoted myself to the Lord. It is through the Son of God that I have been given new life. We, who were once dead in our sins, can come before the throne of grace in complete humility and receive forgiveness.
In addition to my story-time responsibilities at The Bard Company, my hobbies include reading, writing, crafting, and being with my family. Living with tiny humans means much of my time is filled playing with play-doh, crayons, bubbles, baby dolls, and board books. So I am basically living a 2-year-olds dream.
